My name is Jesse. And yesterday was a day of pain and suffering. I always thought school was for learning, not for being jawed at. I was at my desk waiting for the day to start, the teachers looked nervous and some of the children too and I didn’t know why. Then I remembered that the singing inspector was coming to our school today! When he arrived I noticed he had huge knickerbockers, much bigger then my dad’s, he had this red face. All puffed up. He was the full package alright. He even stared at you with his gooseberry eyes. I already hated it. He went ahead and put us in the big room, where we did singing. He made us do singing exercises, and then it was time to sing. He didn’t bring the little kids or the big kids along. Probably because the little kids were to young and the big kids only do exams. Oh how I wish to be them now. He asked Charles and Benny to sing first, but they don’t know any songs, we all know that. But they surprised me when Charles said they could sing Pret...
Grade 5, what a wonderful experience so far! First day of school starts with a bunch of homework, what a day! Next week we are on a mission to the beach, challenging each other to see who can stay in the water the longest, even though the water was cold... We manged to even go even deeper. Under the water! And after that, we buried my friend in the sand and gave her a tail, and then Mother Earth came! I was buried in the sand form my toes to almost my nose! My friends have built a mountain on my legs with mud and sand and was now calling me Mother Earth. I washed off in the water when I was done, but the water was so cold I never touched it again! Now all the fun was over the next outing arrived. For a relaxing trip to..... Kirstenbosch! What exciting news, being called Mother Earth at the beach, I was pumped to go see the flowers! Once the day had arrived we got to see not just flowers, but trees that could be over 100 years old. We got to go on the Boom slang and when we were walking I felt like an angel flying through the tree tops. It was a wonderful experience. Now it was time to climb! We climbed for what felt like ten minutes but we really climbed for maybe a whole hour! Nothing felt better then being calm and relaxed with nature. Sadly the time to leave came. I didn't want to leave but I had to go. Now I'm back at school a few days after, I feel refreshed, better then ever! Typing this blog, in IT ( My favourite class) It was a real joy getting to type this all out, because it isa like i'm reliving the moment.
